In ages past, people have worshiped inorganic things like rocks, carvings, statues, the sun, and even the stars. They have worshiped people and icons of people. With all of those, people had to create their own stories, making them believable in the process. They all fall in the end, for whatever reason, and history is full of the carcasses of dead religions.
