The purpose of the 2030 Agenda meeting held at the UN in September 2015 was to replace the expiring Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) with the enhanced 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, it was indeed a fresh start at implementing global Sustainable Development.
